This funny song, December (the new version about Collective Soul on Twitter) might not sound like a national hymn; however, most of their songs do. Their music creates such a positive environment when you listen to it that it energizes you to the point of forgetting the difficulties you’ve gone through. Deep and honest words with a great performance are the elements that make the difference between the average artists and the big ones. There’s no doubt Collective Soul is part of the great ones. Songs like Under Heaven’s Skies, The world I know, Run, Needs, and Forgiveness are examples of their great sensitivity and intimacy. On the other hand, Tremble for my Beloved, Counting the Days, Gel, Why Pt.2 show the band’s heavier side.
I have the satisfaction to say that I saw them playing live after a 3 hour car ride. Every mile you drive is worth it! Last year my two all time favorite bands toured together “Collective Soul and “LIVE”. Now it’s Gavin DeGraw’s turn. DeGraw’s sensitivity and calmness and Collective Soul’s spirituality and rocking melodies are the perfect mix for this summer.
